Their capitol is a prime target, and once you have a few mammoths you should be able to take it. Get Varg for the mammoth, but leave a buffer out west. This lets you build up a bit, and keeping yourself a small threat early game will lead to the AI starting more wars against each other that you can exploit. Second start is to try to confederate as little as possible and slowly conquer norsca. This will actually make kislev like you, so they'll have your back as you go to finish uniting the north. Get them to one settlement and sack the shit out of it to power level wulfrik to get his mammoth mount. First, you confederate varg (hopefully getting their mammoth, try to not kill it in battle), and then go beat up wintertooth. If you really want Throgg, confederate him as Wulfrik.Ĭouple ways you can start. He's just about everything you want in a lord.
Wulfrik, on the other hand buffs your best units, is great in combat and even provides public order bonuses with his quest items. Throgg is quite possibly the worst legendary lord in the game, and I would honestly rather use a generic lord on a mammoth over him. Definitely go with wulfrik instead of throgg.
